The ‘Three Amigos’ behind Petfringe all sang with the excellent Leconfield Singers; however they felt there was scope for another choir in Petworth that concentrated purely on the joy of both singing and learning to sing, hence in February 2017, they laid the foundations for what would become the Petfringe Chorus.
With its concentration on enjoyment, the Petfringe Chorus limits its public outings to two a year which, coincidentally, almost coincide with the Summer and Winter Solstices.
The Petfringe Chorus:
- Is non-audition.
- Is a four part (S, A, T, B) choir.
- Meets at 7.30pm, every Monday, in the United Reformed Church in Golden Square, Petworth.Serves wine at rehearsals.
- Maintains its emphasis on enjoyment and improvement.
When the PFC was in nascent form, advice was frequently offered to the effect ‘you should get Sara Reynolds’; it took three approaches until Sara finally agreed to give the PFC a trial. She is the vim and the vigour; the life and the soul; the skill and the experience.
Initially, Jeremy only agreed to act as the PFC accompanist until such time as a replacement could be found; suffice to say he’s still in role after two terms: we think he is having a good time.
